It is used as a deodorant, disinfectant, penetrant, wetting agent, reagent and preservative laboratory ingredient in fragrances and related formulations. Widely used in cleaning agents. It is also used as a lubricant in high-cost mechanisms and to condition minerals in copper extraction.
